Content Researcher

Fuel every script with bulletproof facts. You'll dig into census data, immigration policy, geography textbooks, and primary sources to feed our writers everything they need for 30-minute deep dives on countries, states, and big-question essays.

  • Trace every claim to a primary source (gov data, peer-reviewed papers, official policy docs). No Wikipedia-only research.
  • Build research packs for 50-fact listicles, immigration analyses, and "Why X is the way it is" essays
  • Comfortable reading dense PDFs (CBO reports, UN data, Pew studies) and turning them into script-ready bullets
02
Visual Sourcing

Footage & Archival Researcher

Find the visuals that make geography feel cinematic. You'll hunt b-roll, archival news clips, drone footage, satellite imagery, and historical photography to match every script beat across our 30-minute videos.

  • Source from Getty, AP Archive, Storyblocks, Pond5, NASA / USGS public domain, YouTube Creative Commons
  • Track licenses, costs, and clearances in a clean sheet. Zero copyright strikes is the bar.
  • Strong eye for visual storytelling. You know which shot sells a stat about Wyoming's population density.

Editorial

Scriptwriter

Write the 30-minute deep dives that put viewers in another country. You'll turn researcher packs into binge-worthy scripts with strong hooks, narrative arcs, and the curious-but-confident voice ATG is known for. Your work runs on YouTube and as a long-form companion on this site.

  • Proven track record writing long-form (5,000+ words) factual content with narrative pull
  • Can draft a 50-fact listicle that doesn't feel like a list AND a 30-min essay that doesn't sag
  • Adapts seamlessly between video script (read-aloud cadence) and longform article (SEO + scannable)
04
Editorial

Lead Editor

Own the editorial bar across every script and article. You'll manage the writer + researcher team, edit for accuracy and pacing, and make sure every video and companion blog post hits the ATG voice before it ships.

  • 5+ years editing factual longform: journalism, documentary, or top-tier YouTube channels
  • Can run a content calendar of 4-8 videos per month + matching articles without things slipping
  • Ruthless on factual accuracy and narrative pacing. You cut what doesn't earn its place.
05
Audio

Voiceover Artist

Be the voice of ATG. You'll narrate 30-minute deep dives that need to feel curious, authoritative, and warm, the kind of voice viewers want in their headphones for an entire flight.

  • Home studio with broadcast-quality recording (Shure SM7B / Sennheiser MKH-416 tier, treated room)
  • Can deliver 30-min reads in 2-3 takes with consistent energy from minute 1 to minute 30
  • Comfortable pronouncing global place names, foreign words, and statistics without losing flow
06
Post-Production

Video Editor

Build the 30-minute deep dives shot by shot. You'll cut footage, sync VO, layer maps and motion graphics, and shape pacing so a video about Wyoming or Norway's immigration policy feels like a documentary, not a lecture.

  • Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve fluency. 30-min edits delivered in 5-7 days with revision rounds.
  • Strong sense of YouTube retention pacing (pattern interrupts, B-roll density, cut on energy)
  • Comfortable integrating motion graphics, lower thirds, on-screen stats, and map animations
07
Visual

Motion Graphics & Map Animator

Turn geography into motion. You'll build the animated maps, data visualizations, country comparisons, and migration flow charts that make ATG videos visually distinct from every other faceless channel.

  • After Effects fluency. Bonus for Mapbox, Blender, or Cinema 4D for 3D globe + terrain work.
  • Can design a clean data viz (population density, GDP comparison, migration flows) that reads in under 3 seconds
  • Builds reusable templates so motion work scales across every video on the channel
08
Visual

Thumbnail Designer

Win the click. You'll design thumbnails that make scrolling viewers stop on a 30-min video about a country they've never thought about, testing variants, studying CTR data, and iterating until every thumb performs.

  • Photoshop master: clean composites, dramatic lighting, bold typography, high contrast
  • Studies top geography / edu channels (RealLifeLore, Wendover, Geography Now) and knows what's outperforming this month
  • A/B test mindset. Ships 3-5 variants per video and reads CTR data to inform the next round.

How we work

Remote, async

Everyone on the team works from wherever. We coordinate over Discord and Notion, weekly cadence, no all-hands meetings. If you can hold a deadline and write clearly, you'll fit.

Per project pay

Most roles are paid per video or per asset. Rates set on first project, scale up with proven turnaround and retention numbers. Top performers move to retainer.

Quality bar

We hold a high bar. If a fact can't be sourced, it doesn't ship. If a thumbnail doesn't pull, we redesign. We'd rather slow a video than ship something mid.
